The Washougal Panthers's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against R.A. Long and snuck past 44-42. The win was all the more spectacular given Washougal's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while R.A. Long is ranked eighth).
Mather Minnis was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Holden Bea, who scored 7 points.
Washougal's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for R.A. Long, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Washougal won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for R.A. Long, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hudson's Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
