4A District 2 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Jordan Booth - Homer of Santa Fe ran for the longest rushing play in 4A District 2 this season against Bernalillo last week. Booth - Homer scampered for 80 yards on the play and finished with 109 on the day as his team defeated the Spartans.
Los Alamos took down Capital 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Ralf Olguin and Luke Lucero gave Bernalillo a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Olguin threw for 50 yards and one touchdown, while Lucero ran for 142 yards. Teammate Devin Vanhoose added to the ground attack by rushing for six yards.
Daniel Jacquez was the best wideout in the league this week as Santa Fe topped Ken Noel's team. Jacquez tallied one reception for 23 yards. Lucas Gonzales helped Santa Fe's passing attack out by catching one ball for 11 yards.
Santa Fe's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Demons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Booth - Homer has thrown for 440 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Jacquez has nine catches for 256 yards. Anthony Abeyta leads the league in rushing with 1027 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 2 this week will be when Ray Holladay's team takes on the Jaguars. As it stands, the Demons are in second, while Capital is in fourth.
The Hilltoppers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Josh Wallace's team.
