Despite the loss, Hunt saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Na'sir Hines shot 43% from the field to rack up 17 points along with five steals and four blocks. Hines is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Tyler Pridgen was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Hunt was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their fourth loss (out of 22 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
C.B. Aycock got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaiden Williams out in front who went 9-for-19 en route to 23 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those 23 points gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zimere Mcclarin, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Hunt's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for C.B. Aycock, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
