The Perspectives-IIT/Joslin Wolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Juarez 74-30 at home. Winning may never get old, but Perspectives-IIT/Joslin sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Leilani Laws continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Perspectives-IIT/Joslin's points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Akons , who scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, Juarez still got an impressive performance from Yasmin Hernandez , who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Hernandez scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Martha Patino , who scored seven points.
The victory got Perspectives-IIT/Joslin back to even at 4-4. As for Juarez, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perspectives-IIT/Joslin will take on Kennedy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Juarez, they will head out on the road to face off against South Shore International at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
