There's no place like home for the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Keenan on Tuesday by a score of 50-43 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). For Lower Richland, this counts as revenge for the 53-51 defeat Keenan walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Lower Richland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pa'nanjala Curry led the charge by scoring 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Curry is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Taelor Hiller-Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 11 rebounds.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kristin Brown, who scored 16 points. Brown scored a full 37.2% of Keenan's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samiyah Hicks, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals.
Lower Richland's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Keenan, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Lower Richland will head out on the road to face off against Eau Claire at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eau Claire focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. As for Keenan, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lancaster at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Lancaster focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
