Smithfield has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Poquoson Islanders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Smithfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Smithfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Windsor at home to the tune of 80-33. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Smithfield has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Poquoson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to Grafton at home by a decisive 58-39 margin.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayson Kell, who scored ten points. Dominic Galacgac was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
The victory got Smithfield back to even at 2-2. As for Poquoson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Everything came up roses for Smithfield against Poquoson in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 85-52 victory. Does Smithfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Poquoson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
