Camarillo is 9-1 against Oak Park since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Scorpions will be playing at home against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Camarillo 3.4, Oak Park 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Camarillo's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Royal by a score of 4-0. The victory continues a trend for the Scorpions in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won six in a row.
Janelle Rillo-Figueroa was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Oak Park was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against West Ranch as they made off with a 13-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Oak Park also got a great performance from Elle Samuels as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Samuels has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maddie Scupine was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Julia Katz, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Oak Park hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive matchups.
Oak Park's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Camarillo, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Camarillo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Oak Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
