The Halls Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 48-39 to Middleton. While losing is never fun, Halls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Tigers are ranked 106th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Middleton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tamarcus Smith, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taquinis Mitchell, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Halls has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Middleton, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Clarksburg the next time they take the court. Middleton will host Clarksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Halls will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
