The Madison East Purgolders won against Janesville Craig on Saturday with 75 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Madison East was able to grind out a solid win over the Sun Prairie Cardinals, winning 75-67. That's two games in a row now that the Purgolders have won by eight points.
Madison East started the contest off right with 38 first-half points. Sun Prairie countered with 33 points. The offense for Madison East continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 37 points to put the game away.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Madison East and raised their record to 16-4. The loss dropped Sun Prairie's record to 14-5.
The Purgolders are staying on the road Friday to face off against Madison La Follette. Madison La Follette has averaged 82.08 points over the course of their past 13 games, so Madison East might be in for a challenge. As for Sun Prairie, they will face off against Middleton Friday. Sun Prairie won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
