The Westhill Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Ludden Gaelic Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Westhill sitting on nine straight wins and Bishop Ludden on five.
Even though Chittenango scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Westhill still came out on top. Westhill walked away with a 69-58 win over Chittenango. 69 seems to be a good number for Westhill as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Bishop Ludden put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Sunday. They blew past St. Francis 72-45 at home. Given Bishop Ludden's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while St. Francis is ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westhill pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Bishop Ludden, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Westhill strolled past Bishop Ludden in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 by a score of 64-50. Will Westhill repeat their success, or does Bishop Ludden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
