The Bovina Mustangs suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 69-38 loss at the hands of Panhandle. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bovina in their matchups with Panhandle: they've now lost seven in a row.
Bovina lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Miguel Lopez, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Yandel Deleon was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Bovina has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Panhandle, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-9.
Bovina will head out on the road to square off against Highland Park at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Panhandle, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Farwell at 7:45 p.m. on January 23rd. Farwell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
