Owyhee is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. They will take on the Kuna Kavemen at 3:30 p.m. Owyhee is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
While Owyhee's win against Borah wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Owyhee skirted past Borah 4-3.

Owyhee got a great performance from Bryce Tam as he struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave Tam a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gage Haws, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Price, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kuna). They put the hurt on Meridian with a sharp 13-5 victory on Wednesday. The Kavemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.
Ayden Schnitker looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Kaleb Olsen was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-3. Tyler Rasmussen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Owyhee's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kuna, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both Owyhee and Kuna just can't seem to miss. Owyhee has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Kuna struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Owyhee took their win against Kuna in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Owyhee since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
