III Section II recap September 10, 2013
Sabino's Zach Joseph recorded the longest rushing play in III Section II this season in his game against Sahuaro last week. Joseph scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 105 on the day as his team defeated the Cougars.
Sabino was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Sahuaro. Jay Campos' team came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
5-foot-7 quarterback Blaze Rose of Douglas is the league leader in passing yards this season with 233. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Matt Bushman. The Sabino star has 11 catches for 210 yards.
Empire lost to Sahuarita 45-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
