The Shelbyville Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 62-39 defeat at the hands of St. Teresa. While losing is never fun, Shelbyville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 588th, while St. Teresa is ranked 144th).
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dru Clark, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds. Clark scored a full 35.9% of Shelbyville's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Shelbyville bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for St. Teresa, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Shelbyville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Decatur Eisenhower at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. St. Teresa will be home for the holidays to greet Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
