The Unity Christian Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Morning Star Academy Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Unity Christian has given up an average of 52.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Unity Christian is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Faith Christian last Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Knights had to suffer through a 69-33 loss at the hands of the Falcons. The Knights were down 55-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Grant Heun, who posted seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Morning Star Academy earned a 41-32 win over Galesburg Christian on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Unity Christian better keep an eye on David Martin. He was instrumental in Morning Star Academy's win, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave Martin a new career-high. Ian Bosch was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.
The victory got Morning Star Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Unity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Unity Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Morning Star Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Unity Christian skirted past Morning Star Academy 52-50 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Mustangs' Isaac Yowell, who went 8-for-20 to rack up 19 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Knights to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
