Kingsbury is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Overton a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Kingsbury Falcons will host the Overton Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. Kingsbury has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Kingsbury's last matchup with Whitehaven could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Falcons lost 19-4 to the Tigers.
Kingsbury saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Woodruff, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Woodruff has hit this season.
Middle College hit Overton with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines fell 10-7 to the Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly three runs.
Marquel Brooks was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Haynes, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Kingsbury's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Overton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kingsbury has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Overton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 13.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kingsbury might still be hurting after the 16-7 loss they got from Overton when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
