Northgate and Drew are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The Northgate Vikings will be playing at home against Drew at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Northgate pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 75-55 loss at the hands of Harris County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northgate in their matchups with Harris County: they've now lost eight in a row.
The losing side was boosted by DeAsia Stinson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Arnold, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Drew's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by McIntosh 68-26.
Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Drew, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Northgate against Drew in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 61-26 win. Will Northgate repeat their success, or does Drew have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
