The Valdosta Wildcats put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Tift County 44-28. For Valdosta, this counts as revenge for the 32-28 defeat Tift County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Valdosta's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daylan Dixon, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Israel Jenrette, who scored 4 points along with 10 rebounds and 6 blocks.
Tift County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Corey Howard, who scored 4 points along with 11 rebounds, and Malachi Evans who scored 4 points.
Valdosta's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Tift County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Valdosta will be playing at home against Cook at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tift County, they will head out on the road to face off against Coffee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Coffee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
