With a playoff win on the line, Charlotte rose to the challenge on Saturday. They breezed by the Manatee Hurricanes to the tune of 66-34. The Fightin' Tarpons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Charlotte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samantha Vega, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Vega has posted since back in December of 2024. Adrienne Harris was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 20 points and three steals.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Charlotte, bringing their record for this year to 18-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points over those games. As for Manatee, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
Coming up, Charlotte will square off against Palmetto Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Charlotte knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Palmetto Ridge likes a good challenge. Manatee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
