East Moline United is a perfect 5-0 against Riverdale since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. East Moline United will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Monday, East Moline United beat Alleman 7-4.
Issac Roman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Christian Peterson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zach Darras, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
East Moline United hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Riverdale and Monmouth-Roseville meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Titans. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Tyler Nadolson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Nadolson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Wages, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Austin Nadolson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
East Moline United's record now sits at 5-6. As for Riverdale, their record is now 4-5.
East Moline United took their victory against Riverdale in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
