The Scotus Shamrocks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Scotus was the victim of a rough 52-30 defeat at the hands of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Scotus has not had much luck with Guardian Angels Central Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Grand Island Central Catholic humbled Gross Catholic with a 58-28 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-10.
Grand Island Central Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryndal Moody led the charge by scoring 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Herbek, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals.
St. Cecilia's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Scotus' loss dropped theirs to 0-1.
Scotus was able to grind out a solid win over Grand Island Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in January, winning 41-29. Does Scotus have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grand Island Central Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
