Trinity Lutheran is 8-1 against Shawe Memorial since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Trinity Lutheran scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They strolled past New Washington with points to spare, taking the game 83-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Trinity Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Levi Pottschmidt, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pottschmidt has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kowan Gross, who scored 24 points.
Meanwhile, Shawe Memorial earned a 60-51 win over Assumption Academy on Friday. The victory was just what Shawe Memorial needed coming off of a 72-38 defeat in their prior contest.
Trinity Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for Shawe Memorial, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Trinity Lutheran strolled past Shawe Memorial in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 55-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Lutheran since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
