2A-2 Region III District 12 recap October 22, 2013
Fans got a thrill when John McDonald and Derreck Sicola connected against Deweyville. The connection was good for 68 yards, the longest such play in 2A-2 Region III District 12 this season.
The Pirates scaled the state rankings by moving to 490 from 585 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Deweyville was able to move up by defeating Anderson-Shiro 59-24.
Anderson-Shiro's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Fighting Owls feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. McDonald has thrown for 632 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Sicola has 10 catches for 365 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Groveton takes on Corrigan-Camden. The Indians are currently in third, while the Bulldogs are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Groveton takes on Corrigan-Camden. Kevin Parker's team has allowed 150 points this season, while Seven Armstrong's team has given up 145.
The Bulldogs extended the longest winning streak in 2A-2 Region III District 12 this week by beating New Waverly, 66-8. The victory was the seventh in a row for Corrigan-Camden.
