John Henry Pogue made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Denver Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Pogue was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
