Beddingfield has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the North Johnston Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Beddingfield suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Goldsboro by a score of 69-67. Beddingfield has not had much luck with Goldsboro recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jhion Ashby, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jayonta Blanchard, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, North Johnston can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Rosewood as North Johnston made off with a 60-37 victory. 60 seems to be a good number for North Johnston as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
North Johnston got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcel Freeman out in front who scored 21 points along with three steals. Freeman is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Hales, who scored nine points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Beddingfield's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for North Johnston, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Beddingfield hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 55.6 points per game. It's a different story for North Johnston, though, as they've been averaging only 58.8 points per game. The only thing between Beddingfield and another offensive beatdown is North Johnston. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Beddingfield came up short against North Johnston when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 57-48. Can Beddingfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
