The Sylvan Hills Bears are still winless after their game against the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Sylvan Hills fell just short of Greene County Tech by a score of 21-19. Sylvan Hills was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Greene County Tech apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Kaibrein Buchanan and Zaiden Woodard certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Buchanan rushed for 149 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, while Woodard rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Sylvan Hills' loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 12-1 Catholic and 9-1 Benton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.4% over those games). As for Greene County Tech, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.
Sylvan Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Greene County Tech also has no future games currently scheduled.
