The Cabrillo Jaguars and the Compton Tarbabes will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Cabrillo put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. They took down Lakewood 74-55. Surprisingly, this marked the Jaguars' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

| 12/16/25 @ Lakewood | 23 |
| 12/12/25 vs Woodrow Wilson | 17 |
| 12/08/25 @ St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy | 17 |
| 12/05/25 @ Edison | 17 |
Cabrillo can attribute much of their success to Kinsey Obue, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Ului-He-Lotu Eteaki, who went 8-for-16 en route to 23 points. The matchup was Eteaki's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Marques MJ Reed Jr was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.
Meanwhile, Compton came up short against Woodrow Wilson on Tuesday and fell 75-64. The Tarbabes have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Cabrillo will need to focus on slowing down Suavius Denem, one of several Compton players who made an impact when they last played. He shot 41% from the field to rack up 23 points. Denem has been hot recently, having posted 23 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Sims, who posted 14 points.
Having lost for the first time this season, Compton fell to 5-1. As for Cabrillo, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Cabrillo has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Compton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Cabrillo against Compton in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured an 87-54 win. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Tarbabes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
