It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 44-14 victory over Wilcox-Hildreth. The win was just business as usual for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Maddox Jones, who rushed for 285 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Jones has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played.
Wilcox-Hildreth's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gaige Ritner, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller is on the road again on Friday and play against Hay Springs at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Hay Springs is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Wilcox-Hildreth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
