The Calvert Cavaliers's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 47-30 win over La Plata. That's another feather in the cap for Calvert, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calvert to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Kidwell , who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kidwell has scored at least 25% of Calvert's points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Graham , who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
La Plata's loss came despite strong showings from Ally Keesee and Aniyah Sisco. Keesee scored 12 points, while Sisco scored nine points. Sisco scored a full 30% of La Plata's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Calvert's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for La Plata, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvert will challenge Patuxent at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Patuxent comes in still looking for their first win of the season. La Plata will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against King's Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on December 15th.
