The Lebanon Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Turpin Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lebanon is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Turpin in Ohio (Lebanon is ranked 104th, while Turpin is ranked 245th).
After a string of three wins, Lebanon's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Milford by a score of 45-43.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-13, which was the final score in Turpin's tilt against Winton Woods on Monday. Turpin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.
Despite the loss, Turpin had strong showings from Lauren Dornheggen, who scored six points, and Paige Dornheggen, who scored no points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Turpin struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Lebanon's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3. As for Turpin, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Lebanon strolled past Turpin in their previous matchup back in November by a score of 54-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lebanon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
