The Morris Redskins will face off against the Kaneland Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Morris' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Kaneland has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
If Morris beats Kaneland with 13 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Redskins beat Newark on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-3. The Redskins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Halie Olson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Macie Ferguson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Morris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newark only posted an OBP of .238.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Kaneland's offense. They fell 3-0 to Sycamore on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.
Kaneland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Peck, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those doubles were Peck's first of the season.
Morris has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Kaneland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Kaneland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Morris has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. It's a different story for Kaneland, though, as they've only averaged .361. Will they be able to contain Morris' hitters?
Morris couldn't quite get it done against Kaneland in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Will the Redskins have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
