Makayla Lessner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kalli Chelton, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Caroline Scott was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Woodbridge pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Odyssey Charter, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-9.
Odyssey Charter might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Woodbridge in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Owls have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
