The Gila Bend Gila Monsters will face off against the Trinity Christian Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gila Bend lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wickenburg Christian Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Gila Monsters were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Lion on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Gila Monsters considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Easton Fernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Gila Bend is undefeated when Fernandez posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Crash Davis, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Zadrian Enos, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Gila Bend kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian won against Thunderbird Adventist Academy on Thursday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Warriors beat Holy Family Academy by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-1. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Padres: they've now won three in a row.
Like Gila Bend, Trinity Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Josh Partin. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Partin a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Carson Matock was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Connor Wallace was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Trinity Christian pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.0 runs this season. As for Gila Bend, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gila Bend hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .415. However, it's not like Trinity Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .383. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gila Bend suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Trinity Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Gila Monsters have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
