In what's become a running theme this season, the Penasco Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They breezed by Mora at home to the tune of 54-15. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Penasco.
Leading Penasco to victory were Analise MacAuley and Rochelle Lopez. MacAuley scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, while Lopez scored 16 points along with six steals and five assists. Lopez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Charnelle Gonzales, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Penasco pushed their record up to 13-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Mora, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penasco will face off against McCurdy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mora, they will head out on the road to square off against Questa at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
