Northern is 0-10 against Huntingtown since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Northern Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Huntingtown Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. Huntingtown took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Northern, who comes in off a win.
Last Wednesday, Northern blew past Patuxent, posting a 76-36 victory on the road.
Alec Johnson was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Emmanuel Powell was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Huntingtown fought the good fight in their overtime match against Lackey on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Chargers 64-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Northern now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Huntingtown, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.
Northern came up short against Huntingtown when the teams last played back in January, falling 60-50. Thankfully for Northern, Emerson Neal (who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
