Boyd had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Eagle Mountain on Friday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Knights 8-0. Considering the Yellowjackets have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Boyd pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Eagle Mountain, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.

Looking ahead, Boyd will take on Pantego Christian at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Yellowjackets 1.1, the Panthers 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Eagle Mountain, they will square off against Stephenville at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
