The Triad Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Greenon at home by a decisive 66-47 margin. Triad has not had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Ferguson, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ferguson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn McCoy, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Triad has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Greenon, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Triad won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Rams at 6:45 p.m. on January 31st. Greeneview is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Greenon, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Madison Plains will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 595th, while the Knights are ranked 241st).
