On Friday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the field. The Stoneman Douglas Eagles put the hurt on the Doral Academy Firebirds with a sharp  9-3 win. The result was nothing new for Stoneman Douglas, who have now won ten games by six  runs or more  so far this season.
  Breylynn Courtney looked comfortable as he  pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Bennett Gary, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Alex Rodriguez, who  got on base  in three of his six plate appearances with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 On Doral Academy's side, they got a good showing from  Jose Roig, who   tossed 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Sebastian Berrios made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-4 with a  home run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Leandro Hernandez, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-3.
 Stoneman Douglas has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record  this season. As for Doral Academy, their loss  ended  a  seven-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 21-2.
