Softball Recap: Bloomfield Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Bloomfield put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let the Wayne Eagles get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Fans of the Bombers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Ashlyn Wright made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Calla McCombs, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Marlee Poole was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Bloomfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Bloomfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.7 runs thus far.
