The Taylor Yellowjackets waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 39-35 win over Roger Bacon. That's two games straight that Taylor has won by exactly four points.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gussie Hoffman, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gabby Ernst, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Taylor's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Roger Bacon, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Taylor will play host again and welcome Mariemont, where tip off is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Roger Bacon, they will head out on the road to take on Bishop Hartley at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
