After a string of five wins, the Mountain View Mountain Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by Roosevelt 69-28. Mountain View has not had much luck with Roosevelt recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Madison Keil, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Ellis, who scored five points.
Kyla Hollier was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals for Roosevelt. Hollier hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Trujillo, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Mountain View's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3. As for Roosevelt, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Mountain View will take on Riverdale Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverdale Ridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Roosevelt, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Morgan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Morgan comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
