Meanwhile, Edgewood Academy put the finishing touches on their 14th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Evangel Christian 55-22 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Edgewood Academy who now have five in a row.
Edgewood Academy had a senior duo take command as Lindsey Brown scored 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds and Madison Martin scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Edgewood Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery White, who scored seven points along with three steals.
The win got Autauga Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Edgewood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Autauga Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 33.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Edgewood Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 23.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
