The Bloomfield Bombers will face off against Deposit-Hancock at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Bloomfield is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 15 games.
Bloomfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Chautauqua Lake with a sharp 6-0 victory. Considering the Bombers have won 17 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Ashlyn Wright, who gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Chautauqua Lake off the board. Wright has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Sydney Falsone was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May. Calla McCombs was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Bloomfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Deposit-Hancock waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Comets by a score of 5-2.
Addison Makowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sarah Gross, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Bloomfield's record now sits at 22-1. As for Deposit-Hancock, their record is now 20-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Bloomfield has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Deposit-Hancock struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
