It was a good run, but the Westhill Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Marcellus by a score of 52-49. The contest was a 26-26 toss-up at halftime, but Westhill was just barely outscored by Marcellus in the second.
Marcellus found their leader in underclassman Tucker Burnett, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Burnett, who scored 7 points.
Westhill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Marcellus, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Westhill will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Mexico at 6:30 p.m. As for Marcellus, they will head out on the road to face off against Chittenango at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chittenango and Marcellus are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
