Coronado has gone a perfect 10-0 against Arbor View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will take on the Aggies at 6:00 p.m. Coronado is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games.
Coronado is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Foothill, who was ranked seventh at the time (Coronado was ranked first). The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 win over the Falcons on Tuesday.
While Coronado might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Foothill scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Arbor View, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Desert Oasis by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Aggies in their matchups with the Diamondbacks: they've now won seven in a row.
Arbor View had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-23.
Coronado better keep an eye on Marc Jordan Morre. He was instrumental in Arbor View's win, getting 23 digs and six aces. That's the most digs Morre has posted over his last ten matches.
Arbor View was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They are a perfect 7-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Coronado's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-2. As for Arbor View, their record now sits at 16-13.
Coronado was able to grind out a solid victory over Arbor View in their previous matchup back in March, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
