The Riverside Pirates lost to the Touchet Redhawks back in December of 2016, but the Riverside Pirates didn't allow the Touchet Redhawks the same satisfaction on Friday. Riverside was the clear victor by a 56-31 margin over Touchet. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Riverside.
Riverside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Deisy Zavala led the charge by scoring 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Crystal Sanchez, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals.
Riverside's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Touchet, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside and Trout Lake will face off at 2:00 p.m. on December 7th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Touchet will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
