Even though the Bucklin Red Aces have not done well against the Spearville Lancers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bucklin took down Spearville 41-27. The win was nothing new for Bucklin as they're now sitting on four straight.
Bucklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emmerson Kirk, who scored 18 points. Kirk continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydnie Jones, who scored nine points along with four blocks.
Bucklin is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Spearville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2.
Bucklin will take on Macksville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Macksville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bucklin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Spearville, they will head out on the road to square off against Minneola on Friday. Spearville is coming into the match with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Minneola will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
