The Monache Marauders will be playing at home against the Justin Garza Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for Monache, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Porterville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monache in their matchups with Porterville: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the defeat, Monache got a solid performance out of Ty Baxter, who scored 19 points along with two steals. That was a full 41.3% of Monache's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was DJ Shimer, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Justin Garza's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Edison at home and fell 84-47. Justin Garza was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-23.
Monache has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-15 record this season. As for Justin Garza, they dropped their record down to 11-18 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Monache was able to grind out a solid win over Justin Garza when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 63-52. Will Monache repeat their success, or does Justin Garza have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
