St. Joseph's Prep extended the longest winning streak in Philadelphia Catholic AAAA this week by beating La Salle College, 24-16. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Roman Catholic was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Cardinal O'Hara. The Cahillite came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
La Salle College's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Explorers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chris Kane has thrown for 482 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Sean Coleman has 12 catches for 248 yards. Jared Hermann leads the league in rushing with 115 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Explorers and Roman Catholic. La Salle College enters the contest ranked fifth in the state, while Joe McCourt's team ranks 24th.
Archbishop Ryan and Father Judge played the most hotly contested game in Philadelphia Catholic AAAA this week, with Archbishop Ryan eventually emerging with a 32-31 victory.
