The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They slipped by River Ridge 82-81. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
River Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Sweet, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Cleaveland, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
St. Thomas Aquinas has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for River Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.
St. Thomas Aquinas' road trip will continue as they head out to face Palm Bay at 3:35 p.m. on December 27th. Palm Bay is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. River Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cherokee at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
